Just released, is a new state government resource that may help users of this forum find definitive information regarding any region of Virginia. This "accountability system" will display the latest statistics on the quality of life metrics that people really care about, both residents and those interested about moving to Virginia. I just checked it and found statistics on unemployment/employment, suicides, poverty rates, public school achievement, poverty rates, housing, cancer deaths, crime, and dozens of other metrics. You can use the mapping tool to zoom on counties, cities or regions.

If you really care about the straight skinny on different cities and counties, in addition to the great anecdotes and first-hand knowledge we enjoy on this forum, check this resource:

www.vaperforms.virginia.gov

I don't work for Virginia government and don't endorse their products but I think it is a good idea to put this information in an easy-to-use, one-stop shop.

Thanks, I corrected the link to read:

www.vaperforms.virginia.gov

You know, there are some "old-time" Virginians who think it's an insult to their mother state to abbreviate. They think "Virginia" should always be spelled out.
