My husband and I want to move to Virginia within the next 3-4 months. Want to do this right. He'll be able to transfer with his job, but I'm currently searching for a job online-something in healthcare-animals or people. I've been trying to research possible areas of Virginia that would suit us both-the Roanoke area seems really nice. What worries me is what I've read in the different threads posted. Some say cost of living is high-some say not. We will need to rent a house for a while. Is it possible to find something under 500. that's decent and in a good area? I'm plannning a trip for next weekend to have a looksee. Just anxious and curious to know how Virginia is compared to where we live now-North Carolina. I know-I have to see for myself-but what's your opinion? Thanks for any input!

I can't give you much information on Roanoke, other than to say the hotels get full when the Hokies have a home game! I can tell you the mountains are breathtaking and it is always a thrill when I see them again. If you can go anywhere in VA, you might consider the Fredericksburg region. Located between Richmond and DC, you have many options in so many areas, cultural, medical, employment, the list goes on. Check Fredericksburg.com and you should be able to get a good idea on homes. Good luck!

Winchester area seems to be hiring a lot in healthcare, but it isn't my field so I can't say for sure....

Question Va

hello my husband and I just came fron va and we where in chesapeake and it was quit nice there and my husband and I have consider moving there as well. i have been looking on rentals.com for houses so maybe you can start there.I know that housing there is much higher there than in oh from what I have seen on rentals.com. It's almost best to buy a home then rent to me. My brother-in-law is in the navy they just bought a house in chesapeake and it was in the mid 250's if that shine any light your way about housing. what field of health care are you in? I am in nursing and they have to pay way much more there than in cleveland because when I was looking at housing there is no way that they could make less in my field down there than in oh. people would not make it. just thought that I would share with you the little that I do know hope that this help you out alittle if any!
