Looks like it could be a neat setup, but what's it like to live there? And what's downtown Rockville like outside the square?

Default Rockville

I live outside of the square in Rockville. The new town center is very nice and the city facility and programs are quite good as well. Rockville is a historical town with many sites outside of the squre. I could answer your specific questions if you direct me your interest.

Thanks for your offer of help. I'd like to have just a short walk to the metro and manage most every day needs without a car.

The square seems great for that, except that I heard that it's noisy.
So, is it all that noisy, and are there apartments outside the square with easy access to the metro and shopping ?

Hi, I just saw the reply and am wondering if you have any good suggestions near the town center. The square appears to be a very nice and convenient place to stay but it's rent out. I'm looking for around $900 to $1200 studio or efficiency, but the first priority is safety over there.

Outside of the new town center is pretty distinctly suburban. "Downtown" Rockville outside the square is really just the movie theater+attached restaurants and a few old office buildings. Lots of strip malls along the pike with some great ethnic restaurants. You'd be about a 10 walk to the metro.
