Hi all!

I grew up in Rockville but moved away for a few years...I am now returning to the DC area to work at the FDA. I've been away for a long time, and anyway I don't really know the White Oak area very well.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend an apartment complex either near the FDA or near Silver Spring or Twinbrook Metros, from which there is a daily shuttle to the FDA. Actually it could be somewhere else too, with the constraint that I'd like my commute to be as simple as possible, and I'd like the option of not driving.

I am a 31 year old woman and will be living alone, so safety is very important to me--I don't care so much about nightlife and such. I am looking for either a studio or a 1BR, and my price range is up to about $1400 (flexible.)

Any advice is appreciated.

I came across this post a little late, perhaps, but I know of a small apartment community just south of the FDA campus in White Oak. Are you still looking for a place?

Sorry, I didn't see your reply for a while. But yes--I am still looking for a place; thanks for any tips you might have to offer.
