Well of course. I can guarantee you that half of the FBI staff comes from VA. What's your point? lol It is well known that VA has more to offer than PG because no one is willing to invest in PG. That's why it is important that PG gets a shot at at least one large government agency.

I would love to see it too, but you have to take the rose colored glasses off. Again, the government isn't just going to give PG an agency, we are going to have to earn it. When you are competing against places like Fairfax, it's hard to win. You are making it sound as though the government owe us an agency. I think that is what EdwardA is alluding to.

According to who? Did the GSA say that?

No newspapers/analysts and steering committee member overseeing that project and who provides guidelines for Federal Properties. When the story broke earlier this year, Cardin was lobbying hard to have the the new HQ be in MD. At that time it was reported that there were four viable locations (two in MD and two in DC) based on the requirements given to GSA. Soon after the announcement all of the nearby jurisdictions hired lobbyists and put together working groups to vie for it.

No rose-colored glasses here. Please stop that accusation. It's false and getting kinda old now. My statement above does not allude to the GSA "giving" PG an agency. How ever PG gets, attracts, lures, receives, accepts, brings, wins, grabs, nabs, etc., a large agency, which is not impossible, would it not be important? I'm well aware of the challenges PG faces to make this happen and understand that there is a very competitive process involved.

But you are the one who brought up the point of "discrimination" without even a decision being made. I do believe PG has a chance, but you are talking about Fairfax like it has no business being involved in this process. You mentioned how many federal workers come from PG, but you didn't mention how many Fairfax has......This is no disrespect but you are being bias about your analysis of the situation. I would love to see PG to get this, but if Fairfax gets it, it's not like Fairfax is a bad choice

I'm not following. I'm not saying you're wrong, but I don't see what you said had to do with PG being a leading candidate. It would seem a bit undermining if a deciding member of this process to declare a leading candidate without following a due process. I would imagine that a collusion lawsuit would be on the horizon if that was the case. I'm sure the argument can be made that PG makes the most sense, but as we saw with the HHS situation, there is nothing guaranteed until someone signs the dotted line.

Who needs the FBI when you can get a real-live CASINO!

I wonder why NOVA isn't fighting for it...

MYSTERY UPON MYSTERY!

Or why not both.

Are you speaking of the FBI HQ? I believe they are. They have been pushing Springfield for a minute.

Cardin (and a few others i believe) sits on the committee the determines the basic requirements for a federal facility. Based on those requirements and the 55 acre public land requirement from the FBI, 4 sites were feasible options at the time. Two of them were in PG, one in DC and one in London county (based on the silver line route). Based on that scenario, PG seemed the most likely option. Could that change? Absolutely but that was the thought at the time.
