Thurmont.

Edgewater/Mayo are two of the wealthiest areas in southern Anne Arundel County. Yes, they're rural. so what.

There has been friction between the newer rural pioneers moving in the last decade or so wanting to "upscale" the area and the long time residents (some families for 300+ years) whose traditional ways of life have been farming and on the water. That's especially true in Shadyside and Deale. Even Annapolis had issues when the new in Town ego boat owners complained about the workboats at City Dock. No workboats dock in Annapolis now.

I lived in Joppatowne, MD from 1981-1991. I can definitely tell you about Edgewood, MD. Personally, I think the towns of Fallston, Northeast/Rising Sun and Churchville take this most coveted award as most Redneck in Harford County. Edgewood is not too far behind.

Ummmm, he's talking about Edgewater, not Edgewood.

Edgewater does receive a redneck reputation. Many pickup trucks, people in camo gear, and blue collar residents. Its like a smaller Glen Burnie or Pasadena minus the Blacks.

Are we talking about majority white or a mixture of white/black/latino rednecks?

Doesn't redneck assume white? You know, like Gretchen Wilson = redneck, Darius Rucker = a black guy who decided to go country?
