Silver Spring is a good option. My husband and I live in Kemp Mill, and one of us commuted to Baltimore at various times. The traffic into Baltimore is really not bad. If you have parking at JH Hospital, driving is the best option. It is not convenient to either of the MARC stations, but you might be able to pick up the Baltimore subway from Camden station. You might also check for MTA commuter buses to the hospital: http://mta.maryland.gov/quick-schedule-links
