Hello,
Thank you for reading.
I'm new in USA.
I'm moving next october to bethesda for an internship of 6 months as volunteer researcher at the NIH.
I am looking for one bedroom apartment or a studio apartment in quiet place.
I can't spend more then $1000 per month.
can someone help me with ideas ....

Thank you.

Look for a basement apartment or room with a separate entrance in Silver Spring or Takoma Park. You are unlikely to find a true 1 bedroom for under $1000/month short term.

You might also ask the people you will be working for, as they may know of places that are not advertised. Otherwise, you might search Craigslist for shared housing.

Will you have access to a car or relying on public transportation? $1000 is quite a small budget so you'll probably have to find a room in a group house or split a 2-bedroom with someone. The latter will be hard to do since you're only around for 6 months. Search "sublet" on craigslist: washington, DC jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events and maybe you'll find someone looking for a roomate short term. For example, this seems to work well (if you're a woman): sublet basement for rent N.Bethesda MD CLOSE TO NIH, rent negotiable

I can also put you in touch with someone who rents exclusively to NIH Scientists/Dr.'s/Students. Please send me a message if interested. The house is right off of Old Georgetown Road roughly 1.5 miles from NIH.
