If you can find a place in Rockville at $1300, it should be OK. All of the towns you mentioned are safe, athough some low-rent places in Gaithersburg may look sketchy. Just find the nicest place you can afford.

It shouldn't be difficult to find a 1 br apt/rental in Rockville or Gaithersburg/Germantown/Clarksburg with $1200-1300. The places are safe, big enough for you to look for any purposes, Rockville commute to Gaithersburg/Germantown/Clarksburg is around 15 mins. drive.

I don't know of any particular apt. complexes in Germantown or clarksburg. My best advice is to do a preliminary search online and then drive up. Make some appts. and spend a couple days here getting the lay of the land.

The only two apt. buildings I know of are at grosvenor station, north of Bethesda. They will run 1500-1600 with parking. They are on the metro route. They are called Avalon and Meridian. My son lives in the Avalon now. Very clean, very safe, quiet professionals, gated parking. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

If you use the Apartments for Rent - Your Trusted Apartment Finder Tool at ApartmentGuide.com website, you will find dozens of available apartments in your price range.

To check crime rates, copy the address and go to Sportcrime.com and paste in the address. You will notice many thefts around the shopping centers like Montgomery Village. I would not be too concerned about them. Just watch out for violent crimes like assaults or shootings.

Montgomery County is not generally dangerous, but there are areas where young people hang around and drug transactions happen.

I would recommend the Eaves or any of the apartment complexes near it, you can walk to all the shopping and restaurants in Crown and Washingtonian Center/Rio. The area is safe and great for dining options, its also an easy commute to Rockville (10-15 minutes) or to the metro station (10 minutes) if you want to take the metro to DC.

The Fields of Rockville has income limits. A single person must earn less than about $45,900 to be accepted. See this chart: http://thefieldsapts.com/locations/t...on-lease-info/

I think there would be a waiting list, so it is not a good option if you need a place immediately. You can contact them to verify whether there is a waiting list.
