Hi everyone. My girlfriend and I are looking to move from Alexandria (Virginia) to the Rockville area in early/mid August, as we both work in Bethesda. We have a full-grown, 50-pound lab dog, so we need to find an apartment/townhouse that is pet-friendly. We took the liberty of touring the Avalon at Decoverly in Rockville today (Avalon is a national chain apartment complex) and were somewhat pleasantly surprised. However, I have read some negative online reviews of the place and wanted to get everyone's input here to find the "hidden gem" apartments in the Rockville area if possible. We HAVE to find a place that is $1600 or less per month - that is a definite. Is it possible to find a nice apartment in a decent area like Rockville for this price? We are shooting for a 2-bedroom in order to have more storage than we do in our 1-bedroom now. Any input from you all with be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Have you checked out King Farm (walking distance to Shady Grove metro and has a dog park)? The apartments are either part of A)The Huntington at King Farm or B)The Residences at King Farm. The major differences between the two are school districts (those in A are MUCH better) and amenities (B were built to become condos so therefore have nicer cabinets, etc. but the development forclosed I guess because now they are being rented out for less than the apartments built to be apartments in A).

A = Huntington at King Farm Apartments Rockville, MD - Apartments for Rent in Rockville Maryland

B = Residences At King Farm

Have friends that live in A and B and both like it so far.

Fallsgrove also has nice apartments but I don't know as much about them.

Good luck in your search!
