One of my Children bought and moved into a townhouse in Frederick in January. they signed their contract about the same time you did. The developer is now telling buyers of units not built that there will be delays in finishing the section that was supposed to start construction a month or so ago. they will gladly return the deposit of anyone who wants to break the contract rather than delay. The builder lost money on the last couple strings of townhouses (in spite of moderate price increases since my child bought their house in the fall) because of the wild changes in construction material costs and the availability. They now have a guard at night on the materials at night after they had someone tear roof trusses apart for the lumber and cut the locks on sea containers holding sheathing and flooring plywood. So I'm not surprised prices have gone up.
