Looking for a safe, attractive apartment in a good school district of Germantown or Gaithersburg -- Rockville if not too pricey. Could be rental building or condo being rented out. Older single Mom, delightful 12 year old daughter, spoiled 6 year old Airedale terrier.

Have heard good things about Kingsview Middle School and Northwest High School. Can anyone confirm? Does anyone have a 2- or 3-bedroom with availability now?

If not Kingsview, where else would the schools be good for a child who has been in private school since kindergarten, is extremely advanced academically (adult reading level, taking 9th gr. geometry in 8th grade, very good in Hebrew and also in a second year French course, honors in all other academic subjects, well organized and self-motivated)?

Eighth grade is not a good time for a student to be bored -- too many unhealthy distractions. Pleasant social environment also important. She was shocked by the level of bullying and such that some kids seemed to endure at a Gaithersburg middle school she visited. Racial/ethnic diversity is fine -- my daughter is Asian -- but we want at least some kids who think in terms of college, career, good values, etc.

It is too late to apply for magnet schools, as we will be moving almost immediately.
