Whats the area around Prince Georges Plaza like? Is it relatively safe? Is it as nice looking as areas in NoVA?

The area around Prince georges Plaza is getting developed. The county/Developers are putting big money in that area. There are new upscale condos/New shopping center/nice restaurant and the brand new Art district. The area will become a art area.

A lot of the apartments will be torn down and become communities/condo.

I don't know how anyone can objectively answer this question. IMO,the answer would be no, but someone else could say yes.

PG Plaza has to be the most ghetto mall in that area and as such, the area is a little bit sketchy IMHO.

Again I will ask the question where did you come up with this?PG and Northren Va are nowhere to being close to the same type of area or close in area to each other so I asked the question becuase it seems like someone is trying to start trouble, and that is relavent.

Ok sure here are a few link to the development going on in Hyattsville around Prince Georges Plaza.

What is going on?

I live in the county so I would know more about development then you.

Also you can find plenty of communities in PG county as you can in Northern VA.

I don't know how much more "new" development will be put into the area around PG Plaza, but I do know it is a much different place than it was just 7 - 10 years ago. I drove through there recently and was amazed at the change. That shopping center was one of my childhood hang outs. However, in later years, I would never have considered going there. I still haven't been inside since all the renovations, but a couple of people I know actually enjoy shopping there. I do have a friend that lives in the Belcrest Apartments and is in a big hurry to vacate. Too many times coming home to find police there because of one crime or another. However, that is one of the older complexes. I haven't heard much about the safeness of the overall area though. All I know is that it sure looks alot better than it used to.
