Currently considering a position for the summer working out of Suitland Federal Center. Looking for input regarding living areas that I should target in my search for "corporate housing" or general furnished rental options based on the following:

1. I'm currently based in Brooklyn, NY so I'm no stranger to crime in general and living off of supermarket branded items.

2. I don't drive AT ALL, so I'm willing to live in areas considered "less safe" provided the metro is near by.

3. I'm not a shopper, so I don't need an elaborate shopping mall, but I do need a good Thai and Vietnamese restaurant/takeout. I also love Pomegranate juice so if there's some sketchy .99 cent store that sells bottles imported from eastern Europe, please leave that contact information here!

4. Having a public library nearby would be awesome (free Wi-Fi!), along with any sort of facilities for getting exercise.

5. Did I mention .99 cent stores? I will need at least 2 of those as well!

Would prefer less than $900 a month for a 1BR or studio. I'm actually interested in the people in the general neighborhood as well, so I have no intention of moving in just to ignore all of the current residents.

Corporate housing in Maryland will cost you about 3000 a month and even a 1bedroom or studio apt will be more than 900 a month no matter what area you live. You might check Craig's List for someone looking for a room mate for the summer.

Great, thanks! Could still use some general input on areas in MD to start my search to commute to Suitland.
