I prefer the term "Troofles". It confuses the 20 somethings at my office when I use it. I can see them cringe under their starchy white button downs as they attempt not to react the utter uncoolness that is I.

This is pretty spot-on. Lots of superficial, vapid kids from New Jersey, Suburban Philly, and Massachusetts. You see them with their sweat pants, frat sweaters, and messy ponytails at the Trader Joe's on 25th/Penn. A disproportionate number are Jewish, too - relevant to the overall number of Jews in the city and country.

Not sure where you are originally from, but if you are from the west coast, you'll be shocked at how incredibly rude and unfriendly most people are here, you'll also be surprised that customer service is almost non-existent, and you'll be disappointed that there are hardly any decent, moderately-priced restaurants. Otherwise it's a pretty decent city.

I think I know why you call yourself curbed enthusiasm.

Its because of the terrorist threat, but the x-rays can make you really sick, so I try to avoid using the metro more than once a week. Welcome to DC. You'll love it here.
WTF? I ride DC metro every day and have never even heard of this. I've gone in and out of Foggy Bottom GWU station a gazillion times and never heard of this Chinese wall thing. Where are you getting this information?

GWU and Georgetown folks tend to be pretty bigheaded. The whole Georgetown/Foggy Bottom area is pretty snobby "look at me I'm awesome" IMO. (I grew up in Georgetown but now live in a different area of the city and see it for what it is, lol.)
