We recently moved to Belle View. We have 2 kids so we don't get out much. I got a sitter and wanted to surprise him with a fun and romantic date night. We're early thirties, a bit foodies, not really party animals. What area should we hit? Suggestions? Eastern Market? Shirlington? Georgetown? Old Town?

My ideal night would be close to a metro (a mile or so), great food that's a bit upscale in a quieter restaurant and somewhere we could relax with drinks afterward, maybe hear some live music or walk and see the super moon.
Would love some restaurant suggestions. The last date night we went to Vermillion. Thanks!

Bucks Hunting and Fishing. Its an AWESOME but sort of tucked away and externally low key restaurant way up Connecticut Ave. The interior is surprisingly romantic (despite the name.) Its right near Politics and Prose which often has author readings and events, or you can head up Connecticut a few blocks further to the Avalon theater to catch an artsy movie. The area is lovely to walk in, especially if you wander down some of the residential side streets so the moon should be easily visible. Not a lot of live music in that neighborhood, but its generally very quiet and a great escape from the typical weekend crowds.

staying home, order $50 chinese, rent a movie, and watching it in your PJ's, then sleeping early together.

You're REALLY not missing out too much.
