I have heard/read of the development taking place in ward 8 and wanted feedback on the specific area of 20020 (Randle Heights)........I might purchase an investment property in 20020.....

Please see development that I have heard of below.....

South Capitol Street Bridge
St. Elizabeths West - DHS and US Coast Guard
St. Elizabeths East
Skyland Town Center
Poplar Point
Anacostia (in general)
Sheridian Station/Terrace

Any thoughts on if this is a good idea?

If I'm not mistaken, Sheridan Station had a tough time pricing their condos because there wasn't anything out there to compare it to. I think I would wait another year, year and a half and see. There's not much there yet, I think.
