i have to agree with you on this. if my friend needed a homeless shelter, i would of course offer her to stay with me for a couple of months.
but perhaps they are just acquaintances and not really friends, then i would help find a homeless shelter too.
Based off of the OP's other posts, they do not appear to live in DC so it doesn't seem like having their friend in DC just crash on their couch is a viable option.

yes, i understand what you are saying, i was in the same situation years ago when i had to leave a bad relationship.
i was in nyc and my friends were in florida. i ended up flying to florida to stay for a bit, then i moved back to nyc later on.
perhaps her friend can fly to wherever her friend lives and stay there for awhile, it sure does beat staying in a homeless shelter.
