I was on the Redline today and I looked out the window around NoMa/NY Ave and the skyline is literally filled with cranes. I knew DC was booming but this boom is making the city seem like it can't slow down. Has anyone ever seen all the cranes when on the redline? It has to be about 20 cranes in the sky, just from the view of NoMa.

I live near the Green Line (Branch Avenue) and when my mother and I were driving through Southside DC this past Saturday to Clarendon, we saw a lot of cranes in the Capitol Riverfront/Navy Yard area, Greater Anacostia, and a LOT of cranes piercing the Downtown "skyline" while driving on both the Southeast-Southwest Freeway and U.S. 1.

I just wonder how long it will last though. I've lived here now for nearly 12 years. When I first moved here there was construction, but nowhere near the rate of it now. Should we worry that the bubble might burst?

Not for another 5-7 years, maybe 10. The SW Waterfront project hasn't even started yet and that's suppose to take 3-4 years. Still work to be done at Capitol Riverfront also.

Bubble bursting will be great for many DC residents. You know why? "Rent too damn high!"

DC needs even more housing. Occupancy rates are crazy in the city and it should be diluted.
