I will never understand why people stand outside cupcake stores for twenty minutes just to get one cupcake. I'm looking directly at you Georgetown Cupcake.
Does anyone actually understand this fad? Seems quite silly to me.
Seen more threads on this site about lines for cupcakes than actual lines for cupcakes.
Theres always a line outside of Georgetown Cupcake, pretty much every day, its even worse during tourism season and weekends, sometimes they even have a police officer posted outside for crowd control. I also think its very sad that people wait in line, sometimes in the hot summer sun or even in the rain, just to buy one cupcake..
I mean, good for the owners, they've hit it off big and are doing excellent business but Gtown cupcakes really are not THAT good. The lines are ridiculous!!
DC started the trend and now you see the cupcake craze has spread to other cities across the country such as New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Seattle, Chicago, San Francisco, etc.
Btw, go to Baked & Wired if you want to avoid the block-long lines and for better quality pastries
