Are 1,000 units really going to turn that area around? That whole corridor seems like it never gets that much development (is it like NIMBY central up there near the single family homes?). It seems like development has shifted more so to places like Shaw/Columbia Heights, NoMa, Union Market, Waterfront, Navy Yard, and Buzzard Point. They probably got 1,000 units in every three or so of the boxes going up in those hoods. Thus it seems like a lot of other areas are really pulling ahead and leaving the areas that refuse to grow much (Woodley Park-Friendship Heights corridor) to keep falling from their relative positions.

With online shopping being ubiquitous, chains are trying to minimize their brick-and-mortar presence to the most profitable locations. It seems that everybody is consolidating to Tysons Corner.

Saw so many articles about Neiman Marcus closing and then the historic Lord & Taylor closing due to the chain's shutdown. Wouldn't be surprised to see the Bloomingdale's close next and Saks throwing in the towel because of the antergy.

Being on any state/provinical or municipal boundary has less drastic restrictions than an international border, but still exhibits most of the same effects stemming from the differing policies/interests between the two separate sovereign systems.
