Hi,

I need to get to the National Soldier's and Airmen Cemetery for a wreath laying, and I try to never drive in DC. I see that it is less than 2 miles from the Brookland-CUA stop, which I've used many times to go to the Basilica. If I walk from the Basilica to the cemetery, is it an easy walk with sidewalks and safe? I will have a child with me.

Thanks for the help.

Where are you coming from? It might make more sense to take a bus.

You could probably do it but that's far from the most walkable or safest part of DC.

EDIT: You're from Fredburg/Stafford I think? I would just drive. Taking Metro would take forever and this isn't even really close to Metro.

Buses run from both the Rhode Island and Ft. Totten Metro stations to the Soldiers Home. The walk is also OK, but I'm not sure about sidewalks along Taylor Street. Goggle shows sidewalks exist.
