I want to spend New Years in DC. I do NOT want to spend it in a dance club. I want to get dressed up and have a drink in hand and ring in 2016. I'm a 32 year old woman so please no college hang outs. Just somewhere I can sit down and listen to good music.

Good luck. NYE is not really a "chill" night anywhere. Even places that are usually low key will be more crowded and "collegey" than usual.

Try a hotel bar/party.

DC doesn't have 30 and over clubs? I'll try a hotel bar/ party. Thanks.

Come by The Barcelona DC- 1622 14th St NW. It's one of the main pit stops before heading out elsewhere and will be packed to the gill. You can reserve a table or just hang in or outside by the tents. DJ from 9PM and a ring in. Crowd is mature and a really good mix with a hint of all ethnic groups. Not too young not too old with a great loyal return customer base. Mostly 25+ I will be spinning so stop by the dj booth and say hello.

DC has a large number of people in their twenties. There is really no such thing as an over 30's club here. There are bars that skew towards an older audience though.
With regards to New Years, the best bet may be places like Round Robin. The hotel parties though can be nice if you are wanting something that skews a bit older. Especially with the more swank historic hotels in DC.
