I just received the warning ticket "Determination of Proper License Registration" for my car which has a VA license plate and registration. The car is under my mom's name and I live in VA but occasionally visit a friend in DC. My friend got the Visitor Parking Permit for me to park on the street legally after receiving a parking ticket in early January but I still received the warning ticket last night at 12 am. I've been reading up on previous forums here but none of them also had the visitor parking permit. The car was parked for a few days straight two weeks ago in front of the house and has been parked since Monday night this time in the same spot. Is that not allowed under Visitor Parking Permit rules? I called DDOT to confirm and they assured me that I would be fine with the permit but now this warning ticket is saying otherwise.... is it worth it to go in and contest that the visitor parking permit was visible or just send in the non-residency paperwork?
