I'm looking to rent an apartment in PG county (preferably upper marlboro, fort washington, clinton), but the maximum I can afford would be up to $1000 per month. I'm looking for a quiet, safe, no crime, drug free community. Everything is very expensive in PG county and it has been a challenge trying to find something in my price range. Are there any affordable apartments? I'm willing to rent outside the upper marlboro, fort washington area; however I do not want to live past Greenbelt.
Good luck; the cost of living in the DC area is insane. If you're just looking for a one bedroom for under $1000/month, my guess is that you'll be able to find something.

Fort Washington and Clinton don't really have any apartment complexes. Potomac Heights is the only one in Fort Washington and I don't think there's any in Clinton at all. I'm not usre what the rent in Potomac Heights is now. Upper Marlboro has a couple of complexes, but they're all over $1000 a month.Everything in PG County that you will find under $1000 a month will be inside the Beltway.... and most of those places inside the Beltway are sketchy (or worse).
The areas you mention above are some of the expensive areas in Pg county. All 3 areas are not known for having apartments. They are mostly single family homes. I do know close to my home are one apartment complex in Upper Marlboro starting at $1200 dollars for 1bedroom.
Try beltsville,College park,Greenbelt,Lanham,University park which are some nice areas in Pg county with apartments that are affordable.
