Look no further. Very, very nice area.
This!

I lived in Silver Spring for 3 years. I used to take walks in the neighborhoods around 16th street and this is true. Same with North Portal Estates!

That clears something up. When I was online searching for housing in the 16th St. area, Silver Spring had a very strong presence on the list. I came to the conclusion, Silver Spring was very close by.

Thank you.

Do these kinds of neighborhoods actually exist? I mean an affluent, only black, neighborhood? DC is such a melting pot. You don't want to live with other races?

Affluent majority Black neighborhoods actually do exist in DC. Why wouldn't they, given the overall size and affluence of the area's Black middle/upper-middle class?

They have existed for quite some time. Honestly though, they have never been "only black". Colonial Village and Shepherd Park were largely Jewish at one time.

In my lifetime, there has always been a solid white minority present (Mrs. Moth grew up there in the 70s) and I would imagine the real estate market being what it is, that may have increased, marginally at least.
