Booked for 2 nights ar Marriott. Just wondering if there is nearby parking that is not quite as pricey as Marriott. parking there is $31.36+tx...?
Also, if you want to sight see, would it be better to take metro rail or bus? mostly going down by Smithsonium, mall area?
Pay for the hotel parking. It's cheaper than towing fees. The Metro is much easier than the buses, and at the Wardman Park, there is a Metro stop all but right at your door...
I am also staying at the Marriott Wardman next week, it's near the Zoo. I also was wondering if anyone knew if there were parking garages or something else in the area a little cheaper....I really don't feel like paying $140 for parking for the four days I'll be there.
There really aren't any lots, and if there were, they'd cost about the same. You need a residential permit to park on the street. If you don't have too much luggage, you could try parking in the suburbs and then taking Metro to the hotel. That's about the best I can come up with...
There is a parking garage at Van Ness, 2 metro stops down from the Wardman Marriott, where the Giant grocery store is. I don't know how much they charge for a full day of parking though, but you could swing by there on your way to the hotel to see if it's worthwhile.
Unfortunately, you won't be allowed to park on the street for more than 2 hours without a residential permit. If you know someone who lives in the neighborhood, you can go get a special parking pass from the police station that will allow you park on the street.
Park at the Reagan National Airport longterm lot.
Take the Metro to Woodley Park.
For the rest of your stay you can walk, use metro, take a taxi.
