Much to my dismay, I have to drive from Fairfax to BWI for a business trip. The flight leaves at about 7:30 in the morning. What time would you recommend I leave, and what route should I take to avoid the worst traffic? I imagine since I will need to leave so early I won't get hit quite as hard with rush hour traffic. I'm not checking any luggage and will already have my boarding pass printed.

Wow, since you have such an early flight, I don't think traffic will be an issue at all. What time do you want to get to the airport? I haven't been through BWI in a while, but the last time (which was several years ago), it look me around 45 mins to get through the security line. So, if you want to get to the airport at 6:15, you probably need to leave you house and 5am. I'd just go 66->495/95->195.

Well I'm planning to park in the hourly parking right by the terminal, so I shouldn't need to add time for shuttles, etc. I'm tempted to just take a "power nap" for a few hours tonight since it's so early. That route was what I was thinking too so I'm glad you don't think traffic will be a problem at that hour. Thanks!
