It seems like everyone I speak with talks about how they live in Metro DC and the great thing about it is that they never meet anyone from there. Everyone there has come in from out of state/country etc.

So, is DC that different from other cities in the way recruiters recruit? Traditionally it seems like recruiters are scared to hire someone from out of state due to the chances of them not being around long (ie getting homesick and going back). But if everyone in Metro DC has moved in from the outside, is DC easier to gain employment by someone from the outside?

Anyone have any tips on what jobs or industry lend the best chances of landing for someone out of state? I am in the financial industry so the job market is somewhat tight, but I am open to any other options that might be out there as well.
