Commute to Pentagon/Fairfax County (Washington: live in, bus, budget)

My wife and I (no kids) are relocating for a tour in the Pentagon. Our budget is $2500 and we are hoping for a single family home, in Fairfax county (Between Ft Belvoir and Huntington Metro area. What is the GW Pkwy commute like? Also, are their any areas to be concerned about in this region? We will be in the area the first week of March to view a few places...any chance the snow will be gone??? Thanks.

Look at taking the Fairfax Connector Bus to Huntington METRO.. easier, cheaper and sometimes faster.. the 101 bus runs up Fort Hunt Road han has many Pentagon bound riders..

Also an express bus from Rolling Rd/Saratoga area of Springfield and a direct one from Reston.

And.. We Northern Virginians do not live in Washington.. just stumbled on this post.. you may get more hits if you ask the question in the Virginia, Northern Virginia forum..
