I live in Adams Morgan and work in Fairfax and have been in the area for about a year and a half. So far, my medical care has been alright and I love the DC area, but I haven't been able to find a decent dentist on my plan. Can anyone recommend a dentist on the Carefirst BCBS Dental Network? My last one was recently taken off the list of providers and I never found her very competent anyways. I almost feel like she's some unnecessary work and that's a rather scary feeling. If anybody has experience with a dentist you can trust and does good quality work, please let me know. I can't believe that BCBS doesn't have a credible online feedback forum of some type for its providers. Thanks alot for any help.

I really liked him, and I hate dentists. Dr. Nevins himself actually cleaned my teeth, which was a first (usually it's a hygenist), everyone was happy and friendly. It was probably the most painless dental visit I've ever had.
Thanks for the quick reply Juniperbleu, but i just checked my plan, and it seems like he's not accepted. Maybe its something specific to my plan. If I choose to go on-my-own-dime, I'll definitely check him out; his patients seem to like him. Thanks again.
Really? I have BCBS and it was fine. I don't know if it makes any difference, but I have the basic BCBS through the federal government.
When I went I asked about Aetna (for my roommate) and they said to call and see what could be worked out with her specific plan, so you could always try calling anyway.
I went through this a few months ago when I moved here. I finally found Dr Saba Lakhani, who is awesome. She very patient and seems to know what she's doing. The staff are actually all nice. I haven't been able to find that combination (good dr + friendly staff) with any other dr here.
She's in Bethesda, a few blocks from the metro though. I'd still consider her if I were you.
