Question: Does anyone here think that it would be impossible to live in Olympia, buy a home, and support a family of four on $75,000?

From my current research, it appears that Olympia has some reasonably priced entry level homes. I have seem some for $199,000 to $235,000 that would definitely meet our needs starting out.

Aslo, I was wondering if groceries are expensive there? I am in Arizona and I can spend about $60 a week and buy groceries for a family of four.

Groceries will be more expensive. I think you will and your family be fine in Olympia on 75k.

I agree 75k not a problem (right outside) of Olympia. Food will run you just about double unless you don't eat meat/fish.

If you want to live in Olympia proper 75K is borderline, but if you want Lacey or Tumwater, 75K is plenty for a family of 4 (with reasonable spending habits)

I second boybrady. Lacey might be your best bet. Not far from Olympia at all.
