If so, what are you doing about health insurance?

My husband took a job in Vancouver, and we are trying to figure out the health insurance issue. The company he works for doesn't offer private health insurance; I believe that is because it is assumed that all employees will qualify for and use the government-sponsored BC health care. However, living in WA would disqualify us from receiving BC health.

How have others handled this?

Hi, there..

I live in Bellingham and go to school across the border in BC. I used to live in BC but moved south because of the lower cost of living. I personally bought health insurance with Lifewise..I found them from looking at the healthcare dot gov website (can't put links here otherwise I would have sorry). They are pretty good and in the State of WA, we have a standardized health questionnaire so that if you have some existing conditions you still have to be sold health insurance regardless as long as you score under 350.

They have Rx coverage and though their plans don't cover everything (like some lab work) they get a reduced price on those things too.

So far, I've been happy with this arrangement.
