I am travelling from the UK on the 23rd August and i arrive at Seattle Tacoma airport at 8.50pm. I need to get into Aberdeen and my fiance has told me that the greyhound bus services stop running at 8pm. Does anyone know of any other bus services that can get me into Aberdeen at that time?
I am travelling alone, so any help will be really really appreciated.
Thank you so much.

Getting from Sea-Tac to Aberdeen will be very difficult at that time, if you can't afford a rental car or to hire a shuttle or car. We have had ordered a car and driver service for visitors and its about $150 each way.

The other alternative is to spend the night at the airport and take public transit the following day, but even that is a long trip. I don't think greyhound comes out to Aberdeen.

I don't want to hire a rental car as i wouldn't feel safe driving on the opposite side of the road to what i'm used to, but where could i order the car and driver from? That sounds better than spending the night in the airport as i need to be at Stafford Creek at 11am the following morning.
Thanks so much and any further help would be great.

The only alternative I can see, melanie, if you don't want to hire a car and driver, is to stay the night at one of the local hotels around the airport (there are many within walking distance), and try the bus thing early in the morning.

Even the bus from Olympia to Aberdeen quits running before your arrival time so it's virtually impossible to make it to Aberdeen by bus that evening.

In the morning, however, it may be possible. I'll try to look up some of the bus schedules when I get the chance later on this evening.

Or, perhaps the member sphinx on this thread will chime in before I get back here. You may be able to gather some information from what sphinx posted on this thread:

justmelanie I would just sleep in the Sea-Tac Air port on the 23rd from the UK and take the trip I am suggesting for you to take on the 24th to Aberdeen, WA. The trip is safe in the day and it shouldn't take more than 4.5 hours. It is not safe for you I believe taking any kind of bus from sea-tac down to Aberdeen so late at night even if a bus was available. This is what I would do and what I am posting is not to pull your leg. Sleep in Airport and wake up with batterie operated alarm clock around 5:00AM to 6:00AM on Aug 24. Eat at Airport. You will need $10.00 for bus tickets but its better to have $20.00 cash for snacks along the way over the bus fares. I am giving you the times, bus station stop offs, and bus numbers to take at bus locations. I take this trek back and forth two times a year and it does work. Unless you want to take a cab all the way from the Airport to Aberdeen, WA, I would just stay put in the Airport where its safe and take the buses I am posting here in the mourning. The bus stops are safe in the early to 7:00PM at night.

Your going to need at lest 4.5 to 5 hour time to rid buses from the Sea-Tac 574 to SR512 Lakewood station and then ether 601,603 or 603A to the state capital station and the catch the bus 40 to Aberdeen, WA. **Warning** don’t leave your backpack/belonging not on your person at Sea-Tac or at SR512 Lakewood station as someone will probably walk away with them. You don’t want to have to spend time down town Seattle in a homeless shelter trying to get money wired to you from love ones elsewhere. You also don’t want to take the 574 to the SR512 Lakewood park in ride after 7:00PM 7days a weeks as the drug addicts start coming out and swarming around. Better to save sum cash and sleep at the airport and start your journey early in the mourning.

I think its $2 to go from Sea-Tac Airport 574 to SR512 Park and Ride stop.

As sphinx said it is not easy to get there!! - Your best bet would be to take a taxi to some motel in Olympia close to the bus station and then catch the first bus at 9:25. This will not be cheap. Why not get your fiance to pick you up?

Good point, earls. I didn't catch that your fiance is in Aberdeen, Melanie. Perhaps none of our business and a bit off-topic but your fiance doesn't drive?

If I were in his shoes, I'd certainly be picking you up at the airport.
