Lived in NE and hunt in SE.

NE lots of lakes, and trees. Easy to find water for rural homesteads. Weather sucks. Cold in winter, and cool in summer.

SE lots of wildlife. Farms and ranches rather than trees. Probably best weather in Washington. Much warmer in winter, little snow and hot in summer.

In either case, your hospital for major medical issues will be Spokane.

Small town close to Canada - Point Roberts. Canadian cell service, not too far from Vancouver, BC. You'll need your WA special driver's license that works as a passport, cuz you gotta go into Canada to get anywhere LOL!

I owned a house in Sumas, WA, which is on the Canadian border and near Mt. Baker. Small town, border town. Quaint. But you're right across the border from Abbotsford, which is a sprawling burb of Vancouver, BC, basically. So, you get a hankering for MacDonalds, or big store shopping, pop across the border. Plus, Bellingham is about a 45 minute drive.

You can get high speed internet. Not sure if you'd have to go with Canadian cell service or not. Haven't lived there since the 80's and couldn't tell with a quick google search. Could see there is cable TV and internet. Just not sure about cell service.

There are even more remote towns towards Mt. Baker from Sumas. I had friends in the Silver Lake area.
