so we can get state license to grow marijuana and sell marijuana, but fed law still that's illegal. Who is going to win at the end?

States have to change first before we can change the fed law, change always starts at the state level.

State law cannot override federal law. Only a matter of time before the feds crackdown on the pot heads. I don't mind if people want to do that on their own time in their own home, I just hope it isn't something we'll see more out in public now.

If the law is allowed to be enacted, you'll be able to buy marijuana at Fred Meyer. Colorado passed it too. If the Feds intervene and prevent it from being enacted, it might have the effect of alienating loyal Democratic voters, so I'm not sure what they're going to do.

The Feds will not intervene unless there is massive pressure coming from the moneyed interests who stand to lose from legalization (alcohol, tobacco, pharmaceutical, prison and rehab industries). I think that's unlikely. The moneyed interests will instead try to get a stake in the newly legal industry. The deals have already been made.

Yeh, we really need the feds to fight smoking one thing (weed) and permitting smoking another (tobacco). Where would the country be without a vital element of hypocrisy.

They've been cracking down Medical Dispensaries in California. Granted, in some of those cases it's obvious that the owner's were going above and beyond just providing to medical clients, but the Feds are not above intervening on the State level if they feel they have a case.

I think the fed can always use the Marijuana is illegal season to search people's place for other crimes.
