Hi, I have moved recently to olympia, wa. My kid will turn 5 years in October 30 , 2013. In Washington state kids needs to complete 5 years before September 1st for kintergarden eligibility. But I want to join her in kintergarden this year. Can you please suggest any private schools accepting children earlier. So that I can join her in kintergarden this year and transfer her to a public school for first grade. Please let me know if any one know about this.

FYI, public schools here are allowed to have an Early Entry Policy. You might want to call your school district and check on that. I know one friend got hers in early by calling the school and having them test the child. But she lives up north, so the policy probably would be a bit different down in Olympia.

I only know of 2 private schools in Olympia....St. Michael's and Holy Family. I am not sure of what their entrance policies are.

There is a really nice all day kindergarten program through the YMCA @ SPSCC I think they call is the South Sound Center or something. Also, the Olympia Waldorf School has one, and I bet Evergreen has one too. What part of town do you live in? I could easily suggest more if I knew location and the kind of curriculum you want.
