Hi all,

I've searched the forums for advice on the best neighborhoods in Bellingham and the majority of opinions are given by or directed towards young families. It seems like the areas to avoid are the Lettered Neighborhood and anywhere along Texas Street due to higher crime/poverty rates. However I definitely want to be located within walking distance of the bars downtown and preferably close to WWU campus.

As far as personal details go, I'm moving up to the town in July for work after graduating the UW. I'm a 22 year old single male and aim to rent a studio or share a 2 br apartment. I'll be working in Ferndale so easy access to I5 is a plus. Seems like my best options are Sehome, York, or Sunnyland, so I'm interested in hearing the pros/cons of each and if you think I have any better options.

Thanks in advance for the help. I'm really looking forward to living in another beautiful part of the PNW!

Well it takes 2 minutes to get to I5 from just about anywhere in the city besides way out on the guide, but if you decide to live out in the cordata area you can always take the guide up to axton and straight west to ferndale
