Hey everyone!!,
I posted a few months back about moving to Wa. from Ca for my retirement. I wanted a few acres of land with lots of trees that i could afford. I settled on Yelm because its kind of a small town, away from the hustle and bustle of the type that i came from..Yelm has everything i need but if they don't Lacey and Olympia are very close by.So, i got this 5 acres for around $60,000. To build a house ires earched and decided on Lexar homes..mainly because i like the floor plan..This will be a ongoing post to chronicle my task..
In this photo..its the property as seen from the street

This is the well getting drilled

preliminary road in

clearing

back part of property after clearing

house pad cut

Foundation poured..putting in foundation and roof draind

ready to start building!!

Stay tuned for more!!
If anyone is interested about the site work..IM me as i do not know if i can just post his little company here. But believe me, i did my research, interviewed many and looked at a lot of peoples work.He was never the most expensive on different things, clearing, grading, septic system, but on most phases he was the least expensive!! Also his quality of work and attention to detail was the best!!

This is very interesting. We are going to move to Sequim this year and can't decide whether to buy or build. The site work looks great. I wish you lots of luck. I'll keep following your posts as this will give us a clue as to the kind of work builders do out there.

It's fun to watch a project develop "from the ground up"!

Good luck! Beautiful piece of land you got there, hope it all continues to go smoothly! I have been considering Yelm too.

Looks like you have your first visitors! When they build here do they build to withstand earthquakes? I've been wondering how they handle this.

Awesome! $60k for 5ac is good. Do you have water/Sewer/Septic/power? I ended up paying a fortune for the 6ac piece of land we fell in love with, in Blaine; all utilities are on site. You've really moving fast; wish I could do the same. As much as I wanted to finish designing the home and commence this year, I finally convinced my wife we need to move to the area around Blaine and start contruction latest by next spring.

Here's a view from the lot overlooking Drayton Harbor and Canadian Cascades to the north. We can see Mt Baker to the East. Very pretty setting.

Theres a storm water pond on the lot
