I'm too cheap to pay $75 to 100 bux for a medical card, but I've got the glorious arthritis to qualify. There are people selling on craigslist, and there are stores kicking around, but legally, what's the downside for me? If I call someone over to buy pot and the cops show up, is there a chance I could get arrested? I know it seems unlikely now, but jesus I'm in pain and my anxiety's at an all-time high so it's horrible because i don't want to wait til the real stores open, but I'm terrified of being caught breaking the law.

all these stores on weedmaps, do they all require a medical card or what? I feel like hell...

for those who are addicts, the obstacles are minor annoyances and risk is part of daily life. even a bit exciting, for those who lead vacant empty lives.

I think your chances of getting arrested is pretty miniscule, as it's legal to possess marijuana in this state, but the recreational stores are not yet open. You might end up getting ripped off. What are ya going to do, call the police? But I think your chances of getting arrested for buying something that's already legal are almost zero. Still, if you're going to do it, don't buy a pound.

Are you seriously saying someone who wants to smoke pot is an "addict"?

I thought this type of thinking died out long ago.

The only law supposedly enforced is now is openly smoking in public, but then I see it going on all the time. I'd worry more about getting scammed by a seller than getting arrested. Eventually they will get the stores open and a medical card will be a waste of money.

I have heard that the legalization of miss jane is going to run most of the small growers out of the business and the product you will get from stores is going to be inferior. Most people probably don't care because they can still buy it legally without getting a MMJ card, which was totally worth it by the way. They process the mary momma at facilities run by migrant workers and run the plant buds over a conveyor system that trims the buds. This has a negative effect of removing a lot of the strongest resin of the plant off. They then have bags of keif to make food and other products out of. The pot you will get in stores won't be near as good or the diverse selection you can get from your local medical co op. I am really worried that state patrol and local police departments are going to start abusing the written in law for I 502 regarding D.U.I violations. It should have just been made legal without all this legal b.s. catered to the big businessmen and politicians. You need a lot of money to get started growing in this state now and there are limited number of licenses for the three tiers of the plan. Small growers won't even be able to sell to many of the dispensaries because they wont be able to compete with the larger companies prices and quantities.

Just get a card. It takes a day but is totally worth it. You get a lot better selection than the local burnout trying to sell you quarter ounces for 85 dollars thats 12$ a gram. Also you get piece of mind. The most anyone should pay for weed in Washington state is 7$ or 8$ a gram anything more and your getting ripped off. I usually just met my pharmacist somewhere in a public place or parking lot. Just don't have a three foot bong sitting in the passenger seat and you'll be ok. Do have your medical marijuana card on hand in case you do get pulled over however unlikely that will be. It might be best not to have any smoking paraphenelia with you while you get the stuff and are in transit. Do not toke up while driving and preferably until you get home. They can't search your car without reasonable cause. Just lock it in the glove compartment or something lockable. They can't search that without a warrant and don't let them tell you otherwise. To my understanding its totally legal to have up to a half once in Washington state without any cards right now. I would only be this concerned in Washington if I was buying pounds of Marijuana. Otherwise nobody really cares about small quantities in Washington. Just don't scream out the window while barreling down I-5 yelling Ive got pot with smoke boiling out the windows, you should be ok. I wouldn't do the transaction in my house though just because that could complicate things if **** hit the fan. It helps with my arthritis. Good luck and I hope this was helpful.

Perhaps not an addict, but it's been conclusively proven that even light pot use destroys your brain. In that sense, I'm not sure what exactly people rallying to the 'it's not addictive!' banner are trying to prove... that you're not addicted and, thus, are merely consciously and intentionally melting your grey matter? Oh, bravo life choices.
