I'm curious what's happening, especially in the rural counties. Currently, Clallam Co. is deciding which zones in which they will permit growing; I believe there is a moratorium pending further study in Jefferson Co.; growing taking place in Pacific Co.; growing prohibited in Yakima Co. Does anyone have any more info.?

Does no one have any interest in discussing this topic? There are many articles regarding this in Clallam County's local newspaper.

Lol. I guess what I am getting at is, what the county governments are deciding regarding granting conditional use permits to growers, and how the residents of the counties feel about it. For example, in Clallam County, there has been a bit of a stir regarding large "industrial" grow set-ups requesting conditional use permits in residential zoned areas. One potential grower wanted a permit to set up in an abandoned elementary school site.

Anyway, I would like to hear from residents of other counties. Chime in if you want to.

What do you mean? What do you mean!

Pot is underground. Government, pot is for tourists. People grow their own is what Freddy saying.

Which in my strong opinion is the way it should be.

Pot is a sacred plant for many. Many feel it is best to grow your own medicines.

Funny irony now the government is trying to force dangerously strong industrial pot on citizens, telling them they can not grow their generally less strong homegrown.

Does.the government tell you how many tomato plants you can grow for yourself? Do they regulate one giving away extra apples this time of year?

Government should only get involved if.you want to set up a business.

Legalization should have been nothing more than it being OK for an individual to grow a few plants for personal consumption. Legalization should have taken the money out of it, hence eliminating drug cartels, and any violence associated to big money illegal stuff.

So, are you saying that you condone the idiots who set up a spot in the public forests, tear out all the trees, set up an irrigation system consisting of plastic and other garbage (which they will leave when they are done with their grow), and stand as armed guards if a citizen - who is supposed to be able to publicly use the forest - if that citizen unknowingly wanders into their grow operation?

Personally, I don't give a crap about marijuana or "pot shops" or whatever, but my biggest hope with this legalization is that these drug-lord-wannabees setting up illegal grows that destroy our public lands (and that take countless taxpayer resources to police) - will have less incentive to keep doing it.

Maybe that's a pipe dream...
