I have a buddy who has property in Boundary and he pointed me to their land use site. Hilarious, yet completely candid. Sample: "It is the belief of the county that people who buy and build here have the right to build the home that best suits them; if the roof collapses under the weight of the snow, they'll know better next time."

My off grid cabin is in Bonner County and it's pretty much the same, though it will eventually change as more Californians who insist that they don't want to change Idaho, go ahead and do it anyway.
