Three weeks later, still no response from Farrelli's to our direct email to them, a post on Yelp and a post here. They must think it's OK for something like this to happen. Facebook is next...maybe that will get their attention?

I would have waited until she went inside and then kicked her door in.

Ha! But not surprisingly, her vehicle was already loaded with dents and dings, so she wouldn't have even known...

In every parking lot, we park out beyond the other cars because we don't want door dings and we are not as lazy as others to "get the closest spot" to the door. When we came out to leave, we saw that someone had parked right next to us (there were no other cars, plenty of other places to park, at nowhere near peak time - 3:10pm arrival/4:40pm departure on a Sunday). This person was parked so close that I was probably going to have to hit their driver's side door upon getting into my passenger side. Well, whoever parked there was still inside, and purposely opened her door at the same time I tried to open my door, which caused an unnecessary collision of our doors. I got inside the car and was pretty much shocked at this. She opened her window and said, "This is where the employees park!". Um...okay? So I guess we weren't supposed to park in a wide open parking lot as a customer. Never have we ever, living in 10 states in both large and small cities, have we ever seen such disrespect for someone. And this is an employee?! Whoever she is, is obviously a very angry person.

My husband went back in to the restaurant and asked for a manager but there wasn't one available at the time. He told the rest of the staff what happened, and we subsequently sent Farrelli's an email with the details of what happened (complete with description of her car and license plate #). It's been a week and they have not responded. We usually keep to ourselves, but thought this should be put out there on the internet since they don't seem to care.

Is this the new norm? Is this really OK? We are 40-somethings who were born and raised with morals and just plain don't understand this. Farrelli's, while we love your food, this person needs to be dealt with.
If she's an employee, why was she the only one parked in "employee parking?" I'd go back to this 'Farellis' again and see if her car is there, and then go speak with management.

I've never witnessed worse park jobs or drivers (see: inconsiderate) until I moved here to the Seattle area. I literally can't even describe the amount of inconsideration. People cutting people off is the norm. I had it happen twice from just this afternoon. We are talking slam on the brakes, cut right in front of me. I can't imagine thinking that's acceptable behavior. Any of it. It's all very telling of the type of individuals these folks are.

The sad thing is, this is becoming the norm "it's all about me" mentality of millennials (this is NOT a blanket statement, so please don't flame me, or I guess do it if you are one of the disrespectful ones).

There's just so little respect anymore for each other, and it's such a shame. It used to be where you held the door to an establishment for each other and actually said "please" and "thank you" and actually smiled at each other. Hitting the frickin' CAR door of the person next to you was UNHEARD OF. Employee or not. And the fact that the Farrelli's management hasn't even bothered to reply...well, that speaks volumes, doesn't it?

My parents (who were born in the 1930s) warned me this type of disregard was coming and I laughed them off. Now that I am approaching 50 years old, I can see their wisdom.

The disturbing thing about that incident is that it was clearly a sort of entrapment--a deliberate targeting of you. By an employee, no less. When something like that happens, it can shake you up; you wonder what kind of a nut job you're dealing with, and you don't know what to expect from them next. You don't know how far they'll go, as they seem oddly hostile and unpredictable.

What that employee did is very effectively warn you away from patronizing her employer's business. Ever.

I agree. It was so "out there"...and why I titled the thread the way I did. Who DOES these things? I have never seen her before in my life, and what did I do to her?! What good would it do for her to target someone she's never met? The fact that she was basically "lying in wait" is what is most disturbing to me.

I am starting to think she must be related to someone who owns/manages Farrelli's, therefore her sense of entitlement and also therefore, why they have not acknowledged the incident even though they've had several opportunities. It really is a shame, because we really loved dining at both Farrelli's and their affiliate, McNamara's Pub.

Well, I have never heard of Farelli's or McNamara's Pub, but, I guess I wont' bother to try them, on the times I occasionally make it over to that part of the state.

If you can figure out who the employee is, you ought to sue her in small claims court - get your door fixed, then make her pay the bill. Very unlikely she will show up, so will lose by default, and will then have an arrest warrant issued. Unlikely you will get any money, but you can inflict much more serious pain on her. (What can I say, I am a Scot...)
