Greetings all.
I am going to have to take care of my soon.
She is 81 years old but pretty darn sharp.
I’m thinking of moving her in with us until she needs more help than I can give then Put her in an assisted living residence.
She wants to do this in CA but I want her in Sequim.
Can anybody recommend a place?
Thanks
Andy

I do apologize for the typos.
That said have any of you in the Sequim area ever had to put a parent in an assisted care living spot?
I’d like to get my mother into a nice community that has nice apartments or condos with people that have things in common with her and with a staff that can monitor her as per her needs.
I am just so in awe of her.
She has treated her kids very well.
She has always been a hiker and last year she out hiked the wife and I in Yosemite.
She just kept on saying it’s just around the corner.
God bless her.
She is a German chemist.
Speaks 5 languages.
Loves people from the area she grew up in regardless of situation.
Very humble (more so than I) with absolutely no need of money due to her work ethic and upbringing.
One of the last of the “great generation”.
I want her to stay with us to the end, so I might actually consider a home care situation for her, but she and I think she needs to be around people that are of her generation.
Places like that in the greater San Francisco area rob from people like that so I’m asking for advice.
I could google it but might find the same stuff.
Any advice on this would be appreciated.
Any old Germans or Eastern Europeans we could meet would be very cool too.
I hope I’m not asking for too much.
Thank you.
Andy

Just a Question. Is there not any family members around her now. Just asking, because it takes a while to get used to the rain in winter especially around Sequim on the Straight. If your mother has lived in in Ca. her whole life.

It's a hard decision, and I respect and admire your concern for her! Unfortunately I can't recommend local choices for you up there... I hope someone comes along who can.

If your mom likes hiking then the PNW has much to offer her.

We have an elderly widow friend who just moved from the Bay Area to Poulsbo to be near to her daughter's family and grandkids. While its adjustment in terms of climate having family close by makes a big difference. So far she is enjoying it. Although she hasn't been through a full winter yet.

Was the name of a hand-puppet on the Brakeman Bill Show, a Puget Sound area kid's show that ran from 1955 to 1975.
