Hi all,
for those of you that have lived near port angles or Sequim WA - if you had to travel for work, which airport would be most convenient to get in and out of for these areas? Considering a potential move in the future as we really like the area and WFH,I travel 1-2 a quarter at most. Right now I'm very convenient to an airport, so not sure if going into Victoria or SeaTAC are the only options? if so, what the best way to get there would be?

Since this hasn't been answered yet I'll share my opinion.
First- As you likely realize it won't be easy from either location and you may need to go in the night earlier and book a room depending on your schedule.

2nd- Also depending on where you're flying into SeaTac is likely departure is likely more accommodating with flight schedule and cheaper.

3rd- Victoria has airport shuttle options, I didn't look to closely but likely pick ups from the ferry dock.

4th- Beautiful area to live, good on you for having that as an option.

My parents are in unincorporated Port Angeles just outside Sequim, and every year we have a family reunion there. Many of the family fly in from CA and all of them use SeaTac, and drive around over Highway16, Tacoma Narrows Bridge. It's just over 2 hours, and no need to worry about missing a ferry or a delay at the dock. There are shuttles that go that route such as Rocket Transportation, but it's a lot cheaper to pay the bridge toll and parking at Seatac. I seem to remember an aunt took it and it was $100.

Seatac would be the most convenient, either via the highway, or via ferry.

I'd think through Victoria, you'd have the additional step of Customs each way, whatever that entails.

The other option is to Uber from the airport (or if you really want to do it on the cheap, take the light rail) to the downtown Seattle ferry terminal. That ferry drops you at Bainbridge where a bus, waiting for the ferry arrival, takes you nonstop to Sequim (and continues to Port Angeles). I think the bus is $10.

I've done it a few times -- it's a lot cheaper than having a redundant rental car in Sequim, which happens when visiting people who already have a car. SeaTac charges a fortune for rental cars.

Sequim really needs its airport back in service. The area is stunted by the lack of regular commercial air service.

I lived in B'ham and years ago visited my dad in living in Sequim, it was not a quick and simple journey.

My suggestion was that they consider living in the Bellingham area, instead of Sequim, if easy access to an airport with commercial flights is important. Health care is also better. You'll be near Vancouver BC, Mt. Baker, North Cascades NP, San Juan Islands, etc. 85 miles to Seattle.

Thanks CD, that works my brain easier. And the B'ham area is livable and much more conveniently located.
