Oregon is one step closer to Calif.

It is a "me too" state.

No thanks, I will just continue to pay my WA "poll tax" as have many slaves generations before me.

Ideal in WA is to be a "wage slave," and rent.

Burden to be an employer and have a capital intensive business.

If you must have a WA business... Rent your assets and hire only contract workers. Otherwise... Plan to relocate your business to Idaho or a US protectorate, as over 300 WA businesses do / yr.

Flee, and take your j-o-b-s and revenue elsewhere.
Been a strong exodus for many years. At least we still have the freedom to do that.

As mentioned, most of use who sweat blood to build desirable homes and communities, didn't do that to leave. We just get 'displaced'. Only 3x for me, but similar for my parents and grandparents. Not like moving a farm is easy. Takes about 10 yrs of time and income to get re-established. And a lot of semi truck loads to actually relocate.

Fun, but really pleases the (3) counties who want to run the whole show. Would be perfect for them if the residents of the other 36 counties vacated THEIR state!

Better known as "Thanks for the great state, now GET Lost," just as you suggested. Colorado, Wyoming, Montana... All have the same message to their lifelong residents. No longer wanted, welcomed, or needed. The worker bees did their job, now poof... Gone. Get out of OUR hair.

I wish the Dems would find someone better to run.

Otherwise, the election will boil down to: do you want America to be a socialist country, yes or no.

More like "who do you want socialism to benefit? Farmers? Coal miners? Appalachia?" Trump supporters love socialism if they are the ones benefitting.

Missouri, Kansas farmers rely on federal bailout money — including GOP congresswoman

Congress Saves Coal Miner Pensions, but What About Others?
Lawmakers will use taxpayer money to fill a roughly $10 billion hole in the miners’ doomed fund. But more plans face the same problems.

I had a conversation with a Trump supporter once about social security. Hated socialism with a passion. Kept telling me spreading the wealth around doesn't work. But loved collecting his social security checks because "he paid into it for his whole life."

I told him social security literally has social in the name. You're paying into it all your life to support people who didn't care to/couldn't save for retirement and you'll never get back what you put into it.

Couldn't have cared less.

Completely true. Medicare recipients only pay in about a third of the benefits they receive. We who work and pay taxes pay the rest of their benefits. But they hate "socialism". Many are just repeating what they hear from their favorite politicians. I think there are limits to what is possible but I also think carrying torches screaming socialism is ridiculous considering what they are happy to collect for themselves.

Few seniors have actually paid for their Medicare benefits. According to an Urban Institute estimate, the typical retired couple paid $122,000 in lifetime Medicare taxes but can expect to receive benefits worth $387,000.

The US is running on vapor trails.

SS pays out 25% more than it takes in now and it will increase, of course.

Many / most Americans don't think about it or care.

Many don't know.

This cannot be sustained forever of you look at the priorities of the US govt and its allocation of revenue.

I think they just did, though some may not be thrilled with the choice. Isn't Biden the new candidate-du-jour? I read somewhere else on C-D, that the DNC chose him as most likely to beat Bernie, not to mention the Prevaricator-In-Chief.

We can always HOPE that a reasonable candidate can run 3rd party, and WIN!!!!~ Anyone who has completed their 4th Grade 4H Project Book has more 'proven' leadership credentials than our nominees (same as 2016)

If USA elections required a civics test / informed electorate, you might expect voters would be a bit more diligent to understand the gravity of their choice. It may personally cost them far more than just a few million $$.

They don't get that.

Turn on the tube (mine has been GONE since 1968)
Think you are seeing ads based on facts.
Form your 'opinion' based on NO substantial proof.
Casually cast your passively filled out 'Mail In' ballot.

Pretty easy to sink the ship.

3rd parties are basically (realistically) excluded from having a chance at participating in the potus elections b/c of matching funds and other rules.

It's a 2 party duopoly and the illusion of choice (IMO).

WOW and I thought liberals/progressives hated white billionaires. Note all the billionaires in King county are white.

King county also has the largest population of homeless that nothing is being done about because they don't vote.
