By contrast, here's a photo of our last beach community during the summer. We had cruise ships literally anchor in front of our house with thousands of tourists during summer. Then add in Jazz Festivals, the Pebble Beach Open, Laguna Secca races, etc... and, well, its hard to drive down the street or even walk along the beaches at times. It's a world wide tourist destination. But after living there for over a decade, it was simply a part of that coastal lifestyle. All the other benefits outweighed the crowds and tourists when peaking. I got to know local spots I could go where tourists didn't even know about and find solitude like climbing a coastal mountain. There are also a lot of great off-season activities to enjoy.
