Hello,

Any public (or private) teachers out there have an inkling as to the job market in Washington (esp. the Seattle area) for the next school year? I'm currently an international teacher but looking to move back to the States. The economy and budget problems in a lot of states is making me think twice about the decision. If I'm flexible, are there opportunities likely?

I'm a licensed elementary teacher with 6 years experience... Masters degree, as well.

Thanks!
Mike

Whatcom and Skagit counties are tight for teaching jobs. Not sure about Snohomish, King or Pierce.

Thanks for the reply. I'm hoping King has some opportunities... but it might be the case that it's better for me to stay in Thailand an additional year instead. Anybody else have some idea?

This website Certificated Open Positions (http://edrmonline.esd113.k12.wa.us/app/app_OpenPositionsCert.asp - broken link) posts teaching jobs in the Olympia/Thurston County area. Sorry, I know you are wanting to know about Seattle, but thought this was worth posting anyway.
Good luck!
