You're electricity bills must be through the roof, with air-conditioning going day and night.
That alone is enough incentive to avoid such hot places.
It's not too bad, as far as cost goes. My electric bills during the summer are usually $65-85, and in winter they can be anywhere from $100-260. In the summer I keep the ac at 74-76, and in the winter the heat stays at about 64.

I'm surprised your heating costs that much in winter, compared to your A/C bill in summer.
I'd prefer to heat to 76 F in winter if I could, but I suppose that would mean a $400/mth bill?
I wonder how low the A/C bill would be if I set it to 81 F or 82 F.
Isn't Dallas hot as hell, even if the temps are 50 below average though? So technically every year is a "hot one"
Well, Dallas is always hot, hot, hot in the summer to be sure, but some summers are worse than others. We are concerned that this year we have had 99º and 100 º F temps consistently in June. Usually that doesn't happen consistently till July/August.
Now one summer a couple of years ago, we had a really cool summer (for Dallas.) It rained a lot and that kept the temps way down. It's always hot, as I said, but sometimes hotter than others!
NYC, Philly, B'More, & D.C. are staring down the barrel of 100°.
It's only 91°F right now but it's mid/upper-90's tomorrow last time I checked. I doubt it'll get to 100° yet since it's June but it is possible (happened a few times).
