Hot, humid summers are a way of life around here, and cold, snowy winters is something that exists in my dreams. Of course, I prefer cold and snowy winters - if only I could actually experience one.

Cold, snowy winter. Hate hot weather. BTW, I like something like this more than typical Kharkiv winter.

Cold and snowy! A fresh snowfall is beautiful and makes the air smell pure. Cold weather clothing is more fun to wear.

Bring on the snow, much better than heat

I hate extreme cold and snow. I think I'd suicide living under these conditions. Heat and humidity is almost as bad.

So can I choose "hot and dry"?

Too hard for me to choose, because I love hot humid summers and cold snowy winters. Can I have both?

Fort Pierre SD is almost the ideal place for me. Winters are about as cold as Chicago, but summers high temps are much hotter...

True, the severity and duration have to be matched.

If you are going to bring up subzero temps, then you have to match those with long summers with heat indexes over 110 in midsummer.

To me, the cold or heat have never been an issue; I can take most weather for a few days. But when it becomes sustained and relentless (like summer in Phoenix or winter in Fairbanks), I tire of it.
